Crafting Comprehension

(A Whole Class Reading Approach)

Let Crafting Comprehension be your guide to unlocking the full potential of every book.

Crafting Comprehension offers comprehensive, book-based comprehension planning for both KS1 and Ks2. Unlike traditional resources focused on extracts, our plans delve deep into whole books to foster a genuine love of reading.

Each Crafting Comprehension pack provides detailed lesson plans, meticulously aligned with the National Curriculum. By focusing on specific comprehension skills, we equip teachers to model and guide children towards becoming confident, critical readers. Our resources are designed to complement your existing planning, not replace it. We believe in the power of great teaching and aim to provide the tools to help you ask the right questions at the right time.

Note: A typical whole class reading session is recommended to last around 3o minutes for KS1 and 30-45 for KS2 for maximum effect. This time frame strikes a balance between maintaining student engagement and allowing for in-depth exploration of the text. Our Crafting Comprehension sessions are easy enough however to adapt into shorter sessions if time is a barrier.
